Starting up Pomona I wanted it to be exactly the kind of place I would want to spend my evenings off - a relaxed friendly dining experience but with proper food.

Starting up Pomona I wanted it to be exactly the kind of place I would want to spend my evenings off - a relaxed friendly dining experience but with proper food.
Hosting up to 40 guests in pop up venues around Frome from country gardens to churches, guests dine together on shared tables adorned with seasonal flowers, country style tableware & candlelight.
Supper is a 4-course, feasting style menu centered around sharing plates and platters to pass along the table, Each supper finishes with a Westcountry cheese paired with a glass of Somerset Pomona.
I cater for vegetarians.
A hand-crafted cocktail bar, wine list & full drinks menu provided. Card only.
Always fun and a little bit different.
£55 per person.

Great consideration is given to selected wines from Bruton & Frome based suppliers as well as craft beers & local ciders.

Situated in the heart of Frome The Bennett Center is the old school hall to St. Johns Church on Bath Street and is one of the venues for the supper club through the Autumn and Winter months.
In 1854, William James Earl Bennett, the vicar of Frome Selwood, bought property to the West of the old grammar school and replaced the old school with a new infant school. The cloisters, in the lower level of the Bennett Center, originally served the school as the playground.
These beautiful Bath stone arches are steeped in history (the fresh water spring can be seen in the lower chamber) and have been lovingly updated including slate flooring, underfloor heating and spot lighting. Guests dine on large round tables which seat up to 8 persons (10 at a squeeze!) . Each table is situated within it's own arch (apparently the acoustics are perfect) & food is served in the middle to pass & share.
It is a truly unique & magical setting!

St.Mary's church hall is the perfect venue for the festive season in Frome. Built in 1864, the church hall is gothic in style and built from local stone, the first stone laid by the Rev William James Earl Bennett (him again!).

The interior is very intimate with lots of original features, solid oak flooring, a cobalt blue ceiling with arched beams as well as gothic mullion windows. The intimate space is easy to decorate, I love to adorn the walls with pink velvet adding tons of fairy lights & as well as candles & seasonal decorations around the fireplace.
I set the tables in a refectory style, two rows that can host up to 20 guests each. Food is served down the middle & guests share the space passing dishes & sharing conversation. I love hosting the supper club at St. Mary's it has a unique & intimate feel & always seems to create the friendliest atmosphere.

The two cottages that form Mill cottage are the working cottages to the original working MIll in Oldford, An iron mill that utilised the river Frome to produce the iron used in the farms fundamental to the success of Frome built on the woolen mill trade
Steeped in history and a picture perfect setting, I feel very lucky to host my Summer supper club in the garden of Mill cottage. It is the perfect spot to celebrate summer in Somerset.
Pomona is the goddess of fruit trees & orchards and I am keen to celebrate the fruit, meat & produce that the Westcountry has in abundace. I am passionate about provenance and seasonality and want to celebrate the best of Somerset through out the year.

Providing a set-choice menu creates a sociable dining experience. Guests dine together, feasting on the same foods opening up conversation & connection, connection to the land, the location and each other. And in addition, it also results in calculated portions and limited food waste.
Suppers open with locally sourced produce & finish with a West country cheese and a glass of Soerset Pomona Brandy.
I always keep it local I use H.E Williams for my meat. He's always helpful & delivers every time with great produce.

I have started serving focaccia from the Rye Bakery along side the small plates to start. I would love to make it myself if it was nearly as good but I don't think you can get better.
Cheese is selected from Somerset & the Westcountry my favourites are Westcombe for Cheddar, Whitlakes for Sheeps & Ewes Cheese & Cornish Yarg, but I'm working my way through!
Mere Trout Farm for fresh trout as well as hot & cold smoked trout.
Tom is a fanatic about growing and all things green. He has a huge garden and is my go to for each season picking his brains for what's in season & about to harvest. I keep the menu flexible until the last week where I weave in any produce that he has for me. He is welcome at any supper club so look out for him and ask him anything about

An inspiration for Pomona supper club is the great selection of cheese the West country & Somerset has to offer. I was really interested in serving a taste of Somerset...a local cheese paired with a locally distilled digestif accompanied by seasonal pickled fruit.

Somerset Pomona is an award winning (3 star great taste 2022) blend of cider brandy & apple juice, aged in casks. from The Somerset Cider Company at Burrow Hill, Martock.. They describe it as "sophisticated complex apples with honeysuckle and a hint of almond. It makes an exceptional digestif and is an ideal accompaniment to a cheese board"...which is good news for me as I serve Pomona Cider Brandy at each supper club alongside a different West Country cheese to finish the meal.
